5/9 Today the second grade students had to think about SDGs initiatives for each destination of their study trip from the perspective of town and community development. In the second year, students will be involved in either the “Regional Collaborative Creation Project” or the “Flower Road Project.” The aim is to learn about theinitiatives for SDGs in each destination from the perspective of town and community development. Students should think about which SDG number each initiative falls under for each destination and summarize the items that particularly impressed them .The plan is to research for two hours and give a presentation in the last hour.
4/25 Today the second grade students had to conduct a team building activity whereby they were given sticky notes and had to write potential solutions to various regional and local situations. This activity was targeted at gaining a better understanding of varying challenging situations in addition to deepening friendships in the new classes and groups so to connect them to future activities and realise the importance of cooperation.
4/18 The second grade students were each put into their research trip groups. The research destinations include Okinawa, Korea and Taiwan. Each group has to learn about and discuss the SDG targets in each place. They must think about global social issues from a global perspective and how to contribute to regional and urban development. A further focus is on solving local issues, understanding diversity, regional development and environmental conservation amongst others. The groups engaged in some ice-break activities in order to get to know each other better.
